It started in 2015, with a crushing desire for something more, for ourselves and the people we care about. We left behind corporate careers in San Francisco, and dove into web development and coding, as 40-something, minority women!

The odds were stacked against us on many levels, but we persevered. With our new skills, we didn’t join a startup or trendy tech company. We focused on brining technology tools to regular people: nonprofits, poc, small businesses, dreamers, artists, makers, everyday people like us. We want to share the benefits, tricks and tools of the industry with everyone. Technology should benefit the people, not monetize or disempower them. So, TechBenders was born with this mission.

Our first office opened in 2017, in the heart of Oakland’s Fruitvale, above a panaderĂa with some of the best pan dulce around. This picture will always remind us of our roots. Now, we continue to work out of Fruitvale and remotely around the world, but rest assured, we are always one message away, reach out any time.
